FOUNDER’S COLLECTION

Founder’s Collection honours Francisco Undurraga and his family, who founded Viña Undurraga more than 135 years ago. Viña Undurraga’s entire legacy of quality, tradition, consistency and excellence is captured in a single bottle. The winery’s classic viticulture and winemaking preserve the style and signature of this wine, which has been made for over 40 years. Grown on small, specially selected plots, only the best clusters of grapes are chosen for this wine.

Enologist:

Rafael Urrejola

An enologist from the Catholic University of Chile, the head winemaker at Viña Undurraga is the leader of the entire winemaking operation at the winery, responsible for ensuring quality and providing guidance for all the wines produced by Undurraga.

ORIGIN

Santa Ana Estate, Maipo Valley. Forty-year-old vines which yield less than 6,000 kg/ha. The soils are alluvial in origin, medium-textured, loamy to sandy-loam and well drained

TASTING NOTES:

This wine is an intense, bright cherry colour. The nose is dominated by black fruit aromas like blackberries and red fruit such as cherries and raspberries, enveloped in toasty notes of tobacco and subtle hints of cedar and liquorice. In the mouth it is smooth-textured with plenty of firm, concentrated and well-integrated tannins. This is a wine with style, character and body. The finish is long and the wine has great ageing potential.

Cellaring recommendations: This wine can be stored for at least 8 to 10 years

Service Temperature: 15-18°C
